Workshops

This year, being our 10th Birthday, we wish to give back to those who have supported us over the years. We are offering a couple of free craft workshops for your enjoyment and to have some social time together.
We will need to know numbers, so please let us know if you wish to join us.

1. Children's doll painting workshop

In 2023, to encourage our budding young artists, the South Australian Doll Guild committee has decided to run a beginner's doll painting workshop for children aged 10 to 16. We have spaces for 10 children.

The class will be run by several of our committee members at Fullarton Park Community Centre, 411 Fullarton Road, Fullarton.

The painting part of the course will be on Tuesday 3/10/2023 from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm approximately. The doll will be assembled on Wednesday 4/10/2023, starting at 9:30 am (note, these dates are in the school holidays).

The cost will be $120. Everything you need to make your baby will be supplied and all participants will take home a completed bald baby plus some little surprises. We will be using Ultimate Fusion air-dry paints.

The kit we will be using is sleeping “Ella” (Bountiful Babies), with full limbs and a cloth body.

Please note, there is no catering - participants will need to bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks.

2. Doll wig making class with Jodie Lombardo

Spend a few hours with Jodie learning the art of wig making. You will learn how to create a custom wig on a baby of your choice. Mohair is not included in the price but will be available to purchase on the day. You can choose a faux mohair or real mohair - or both.

Time: Thursday 5th October 2023, 10:00am - 2:00pm
Location: Fullarton Park Community Centre, 411 Fullarton Road Fullarton SA 5063
Cost: $50.00 plus cost of mohair/faux mohair

3. Felting workshop

Have you always wanted to know what needle felting was about and how it's done? Well, here is your chance to try it! Come and join us for a FREE FELTING WORKSHOP!
Jocelyn and Betty will provide all you need, (even the band-aids) plus their knowledge to get you all started on your felting journey. It can be very relaxing to do.
Our workshop will start at 12 noon, Wednesday 4th of October and finish at 4pm.
Come and join the fun; coffee and tea provided and byo lunch if you wish.

4. Making a doll's headband

If you are doing Jodie Lombardo's wig making class on Thursday the 5th of October, you may wish to stay on and have some more fun making a head band (or two) for your doll. RHONDA JANETSKI has offered to step us through the creative process. All materials will be supplied, as well as tea and coffee.
This FREE WORKSHOP offer is open to anyone wishing to enjoy some social time, not just those doing Jodie's class.
TIME is 2 till 4pm Thursday October the 5th.
